Why Do Catholics Do That?

How Do We Make A Good Confession?

         In confession, we admit what we’ve done, apologize, and resolve not to do it again. In return, we receive absolution and the grace to fight against temptation. “His mercy is infinitely greater than our sins”. – Pope Francis. A good confession begins with a thorough examination of conscience. Using the Ten Commandments and the Beatitudes as guides, reflect on instances when you have failed to love like Christ.
       Confess any mortal sins since your last confession, and any venial sins that you remember. For sin to be mortal, it must be serious, freely chosen, and committed knowing it was a sin.
      "God loves you dearly and He wants to forgive you; you need only to ask for it."

Catholic Relief Services

      This week we take up The Catholic Relief Services Collection to help Jesus in disguise. This collection helps six Catholic agencies provide relief and support to struggling communities and work for peace and reconciliation among our marginalized brothers and sisters here and around the world. Please prayerfully consider how you can support the collection.

Congratulations, Jan!

         Congratulations to Jan Dusik! Our own Jan Dusik from St. Anthony Parish has been chosen "Woman of the Year" by the Siskiyou Deanery. She has been selected from among the eight parishes in our Siskiyou Deanery for this outstanding honor. Her untiring and active devotion to our Lord and His Church has earned for her this recognition. nnbsp;
       The Sacramento Diocese Council of Catholic Women will honor her on April 6th in Placerville with a luncheon and be presented with a certificate by Bishop Soto.
         Congratulations Jan, well done!
